Oath in Felghana has a very different play style from Seven, 8 and Celceta. It's much more retro styled. I don't recall there being a lot of puzzles, but there is a little bit of platforming from a semi topdown perspective. You have a simple sword attack and a couple of special moves or spells that you can change up as you go.

Oath is one of my favorites, both because of the gameplay (love Napishtim engine), the music, story, and the difficulty. Level grinding will help you immensely. Bosses and monsters are tuned to a specific level. If you're getting hammered, try grinding out a level.

Oath in Felghana is an absolute classic of the action RPG genre. I've poured in hours into it because of how addicting the combat is despite the game being a roughly 912 hour experience otherwise.
